GOBBLE UP PCARA’S THANKSGIVING SPECIALS

Park City restaurants are celebrating the holiday with a range of delicious specials.

PARK CITY, Utah (Nov. 2016) — Leave the kitchen behind and make your Thanksgiving plans with the Park City Area Restaurant Association.

More than a dozen local restaurants and caterers are offering a host of delicious specials, meals and more, sure to make a perfect, stress-free special occasion whether you eat-in or dine-out.

“We have the best chefs in the world here in Park City – sit back, relax, and let them do all the work this Thanksgiving. And then, of course, dig in,” PCARA executive director Ginger Ries said.

Between formal multi-course dinners, casual buffets, or catered fare, you’ll find the dinner that’s right for you, your family and your friends. Read on for a rundown of the meals and other items being offered this Thanksgiving, which this year falls on Nov. 24:

APEX AT MONTAGE DEER VALLEY

$85 for adults, $40 for children

12 - 8 p.m.

This topflight restaurant at Montage at Deer Valley Resort is serving a delectable Thanksgiving Day buffet. Enjoy classics like herb-roasted turkey breast, pepper-crusted beef tenderloin, citrus-appleglazed cedar plank salmon, yams with roasted marshmallows, apple-sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, honey mustard glazed Brussels sprouts and more; plus signature sautees like pumpernickel and butternut squash cake; a selection of shellfish; a trio of soups; six salads; a children’s buffet; and more than a dozen desserts.

THE BRASS TAG AT DEER VALLEY RESORT

$48 prix fixe dinner for two

Dinner 5:30 - 9 p.m., bar open 4 - 9 p.m.

Celebrate Thanksgiving in mountain comfort at The Brass Tag, which is serving a classic three-course Thanksgiving for two. Start with a choice of miso pumpkin soup or grilled romaine salad, followed by an entrée of herb-rubbed oven-roasted chicken, oven-roasted prime rib or butternut squash ravioli. For dessert enjoy pumpkin crème brulee or apple cheddar pie. A la carte options are also available.

DEER VALLEY GROCERY~CAFÉ

Sides, starters and desserts to-go

Orders must be placed by 5 p.m. Nov. 21, and picked up by 7 p.m. Nov. 23.

Focus on the main event and leave the rest to the Deer Valley Grocery~Café! This local favorite is offering delicious sides like roasted carrot and leek soup, Deer Valley roasted garlic mashers, artisan Caesar salad, green bean au gratin, and roasted Brussels sprouts and butternut squash, which will make perfect compliments to your turkey, ham or other entrée being served at home. Enjoy desserts like pies – including pumpkin, apple cheddar, potato pecan, apple pie, and cherry pie – cheesecake with strawberry glaze and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. And if you’re celebrating Thanksgiving as a guest, these all make great housewarming items, too.

ESCALA AT HYATT CENTRIC PARK CITY

$28 per person, two-person minimum; family-style available with 48-hour notice

Nov. 23 and 24

Bring your friends and family to Escala for a classic prix fixe dinner served per-person or family-style. Enjoy selections like French Onion soup and cranberry and spinach salad, followed by molasses-brined turkey with apple and pecan stuffing, roasted and glazed sweet potatoes, roasted veggies, buttermilk mashed potatoes and black pepper gravy. Housemade pies and cobblers round-out the evening for dessert. An a la carte menu is also available. And if you have to work on Thanksgiving, or if you already made plans for Thanksgiving but wanted to celebrate the holiday with others in your life, too, Escala will be serving its Thanksgiving meal the day before the holiday as well.

GLITRETIND AT STEIN ERIKSEN LODGE

Buffet

$75 for adults, $25 for children ages 5-12

11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

This is one Thanksgiving feast you won’t forget! Glitretind, home of Stein Eriksen Lodge’s famed Sunday brunch at Deer Valley Resort, is once again serving its giant, five-star Thanksgiving buffet. Selections include six salads, a selection of steamed shellfish, roasted Utah turkey, Wagyu chuck roast, lamb T-bone, maple bourbon glazed ham, wild salmon, buffalo short ribs, stuffed portabella mushrooms, parsley-butter fall vegetables, mashed potatoes, roasted yams and sweet potatoes, a kids buffet, and Steins’ Grand Dessert Display, with gingered pear and walnut cobbler, chocolate-cranberry-almond bread pudding, and caramel-apple crepes. 

GRUB STEAK

Prix-fixe

$30.75 for adults, $15.75 for children 12 and younger

2 - 8 p.m.

Park City’s favorite local steakhouse is serving a classic three-course Thanksgiving dinner done right. Enjoy potato leek soup with gold creek cheddar, baby Romaine heart Caesar salad or Park City’s best salad bar. Then dig into a roasted tom turkey with savory herb stuffing with traditional gravy, green beans almondine, homemade creamy mashers, fresh cirrus cranberry relish, oat-and-barley beer bread and sourdough baguette. Then choose between pumpkin pie with vanilla bean whipped cream or spiced apple bread pudding with High West bourbon sauce. 

POWDER AT THE WALDORF-ASTORIA

$55 per person

11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

This sumptuous buffet features an array of classic Thanksgiving selections: entrees like roasted turkey, honey clove glazed ham, herb-crusted prime beef tenderloin, braised beef short ribs, cedar-planked king salmon; sides such as candied yams, wild boar and apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, honey-glazed carrots, and sautéed Brussels sprouts; plus selections of seafood, soups, salads, cheeses, charcuterie and berries for starters, and a delicious assortment of baked pies, cakes, pastries and cookies for dessert.

WINDY RIDGE BAKERY

Pie and quiche selections to-go; $22.50 to $25

Orders must be placed by Nov. 16. Pick-up is Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Park City’s favorite bakery has a range of pies and quiches sure to enhance your dinner or make a delightful and delicious house warmer. Enjoy tomato and spinach or ham and Swiss quiche, as well as mixed berry pie, pumpkin spice pie, Mile High apple pie, key lime pie or maple pecan pie. All pies are in an 11-inch deep dish and should serve 8-10 people generously.

ZOOM

Regular menu with special chef additions

5:30-9:30 p.m.

ZOOM will be serving its acclaimed regular menu for dinner on Thanksgiving. The chef will also be making some special Thanksgiving additions to the menu, too.
