Brian Head, Utah — (Sept. 10, 2024) — Southern Utah's Brian Head Resort is scheduled to kick off its 60th ski season on Friday, November 8, with nearly $1.4 million in capital improvements, new trails, gladed terrain, and on-mountain celebrations.
During the 2024-25 season, Brian Head Resort will debut three new trails, including two beginner trails and one intermediate trail, bringing the total number of trails at the resort to 74. The new trails are the result of years of tree glading to help maintain a healthy forest. Families can also enjoy a fun tree run on a newly gladed adventure trail, situated in the trees between Navajo and Maryland Parkway trails on Navajo Mountain.
To provide the best possible skiing and riding throughout the 2024-25 season, Brian Head Resort has replaced over 2,400 feet of snowmaking line. The resort has also added new energy-efficient LED lighting and poles to improve visibility for night skiing.
To make loading and unloading lifts easier, the resort has added new ramps at the base and top of the Giant Steps Express and Navajo Express lifts, as well as at the base of the Wildflower and Alpen Glow lifts. The resort has also completely refurbished the ski patrol building at the top of the Giant Steps Express lift.
Brian Head Resort began in 1964 when the first chairlift and T-bar were installed for its grand opening on January 7, 1965. Sixty years later, Brian Head Resort is southern Utah’s premier ski resort with 650 acres of skiable terrain, 8 lifts, 2 ski lodges, and a variety of activities including night skiing, snow tubing, live music, and signature events.
During the week of January 7, 2025, Brian Head Resort invites everyone to celebrate its 60th anniversary with on-mountain activities and events. "We are thrilled to celebrate our 60-year milestone," says Tom Pettigrew, general manager at Brian Head Resort. “This achievement is a testament to the support of our community, the dedication of our amazing team, and the loyal guests who have made Brian Head Resort a part of their winter traditions.”
