2017 Alta Summer Stewardship & Education Events

The community of Alta is coming together to offer residents, patrons and Salt Lake visitors alike a fun filled summer of stewardship and environmental education.

Alta, UT June 12, 2017: The community of Alta is coming together to offer residents, patrons and Salt Lake visitors alike a fun filled summer of stewardship and environmental education. Everyone is welcome to join the powerhouse collaboration between Alta Ski Area, Alta Environmental Center, Town of Alta, Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, Forest Service, Friends of Alta, Alta Community Enrichment, TreeUtah, Tracy Aviary, and HawkWatch International in a variety of events including trail work, weed pulls, birding, hiking and more. The community of Alta seeks to promote stewardship through fun, outdoor, educational activities that celebrate Alta by helping keep it natural and scenic.

Some highlights include our annual Town of Alta Restoration Day Saturday, June 24th and our 2nd annual Alta Kids Day Saturday, August 12th. Also, don’t forget about our monthly weed pulls and bird surveys! The stewardship partners hope that all Alta patrons see this as an opportunity to make stride in minimizing recreational impact as well as build awareness and appreciation with our future stewards.

In addition to these events this summer the Albion Day Lodge at Albion Base will be open from June 23 through September 24th, Friday to Monday and holidays, 11am to 6pm. The Albion Day Lodge is pleased to serve the public with cold sandwiches, picnic foods, beverages, ice cream, souvenirs, beer, and a special inclusion of eco- friendly Boxed Water.
