Snowbird comments:
The snow is still riding awesome after the storm this weekend. Snowbird also picked up an additional 1 inch of accumulation overnight. There are steep hidden stashes off Mineral, Little Cloud and Gad 2 for advanced skiers and powder lower down off Gadzoom and Wilbere. Expect partly sunny skies and temperatures near 24° with windchill near 0°. Chilly temperatures will continue for the next week. The Bird is forecasted for some flurries to roll in starting on Friday and continuing through Martin Luther King Day. So for now, pack your sunscreen, but also continue you snow superstitions and get ready for some flakes on Friday. The Intermountain Cup Series and the Hartlauer Memorial South Series are happening under the Wilbere chair this week for any racing spectators out there. There is an AIARE 1 Avalanche Course event today and tomorrow and there are plenty more to sign up for through March 2025. Conditions permitting, Snowbird will be spinning 14 lifts today. Yes, that includes Mineral Basin. Plan ahead; sign your lift waiver and upload your pass photo online before arriving at the mountain. Please remember that early season conditions exist, and unmarked hazards are present. We advise you to ski and ride with caution: slow down and stay in control. For those driving SR-210, make sure your car is winter-ready and compliant with the UDOT traction law. Speaking of vehicles, get rewards for sharing yours! Download or update your Snowbird app to receive exclusive discounts and rewards when you carpool with friends or ride the UTA Ski Bus. All uphill travel is CLOSED for the season now that Snowbird is open for lift-service skiing and riding. The Bird awaits!
