The Snowbird Snowcat Skiing is a guided backcountry ski experience in upper American Fork Canyon.
Experience untracked powder skiing/riding via a snowcat in Snowbird's amazing backcountry terrain including 5 distinct areas: Sinner’s Pass, Pagan Basin, Borussia, Miller Hill and Mary Ellen Gulch.
From breakfast to the Aerial Tram to snowcat skiing within 45 minutes, Snowbird Mountain Guides offers the best ease of access to backcountry, powder skiing. Get the most out of your time in the mountains. *All guided trips include avalanche transceiver.
Standard Tour: 7:30 am - 1 pm, $480/person
Includes a half-day of guided backcountry snowcat skiing and riding. You will meet your 2 guides over breakfast at The Forklift and load an early tram car. The group will then get a pre-public resort warm-up when conditions allow, and a backcountry snowcat safety briefing before heading through the resort boundary gate and into our cat terrain. You will return to the ski area by 1 pm with a lift ticket to enjoy the remainder of the day in the resort.
Private Tour: 7:30 am - 1 pm, $5,400 (up to 12 people)
In the private tour, you and your group will have the snowcat and 2 guides to yourselves for the half-day of guided backcountry snowcat skiing and riding. You will meet your guides over breakfast at The Forklift and load an early tram car. Your group will then get a pre-public resort warm-up when conditions allow, and a backcountry snowcat safety briefing before heading through the resort boundary gate and into our cat terrain. Equipment
Modern powder ski technology is recommended. Equipment is available at a discount rate the day prior through Cliff Sports. All participants should be advanced skiers or riders in physical condition for high altitude exertion in variable snow and weather conditions. Participants must wear a beacon, which will be provided.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made by guests more than 30 days prior to your reservation date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made by guests within 30 days prior will receive a full refund less a $50 per person processing fee for Standard Tours and $600 processing fee for Private Tours. Cancellations made by guests within 7 days or less are non-refundable. Snowbird reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to conditions beyond our control. If Snowbird cancels for any reason you will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
