Experience slopeside lodging and ski in/out access at Alta's historic Alta Lodge. Family owned and operated with a cozy mountain inn atmosphere, incredible views, friendly service, and fine dining.
We offer the classic ski vacation – reminiscent of the days when your accommodations were more than just a place to stay. The atmosphere at Alta Lodge is relaxed, intimate and informal. When you are not out skiing the "greatest snow on earth," make yourself at home in front of the fireplace with the paper or a good book, enjoy afternoon tea with house-made baked goods, and unwind in the Sitzmark Club bar for apres ski or a drink after dinner. Keeping with the Alta tradition, your nightly stay at the Lodge includes a wonderful four-course dinner and a full hot breakfast.
Alta Lodge is located at 8,600 feet (2,620 meters) at the base of the Alta Ski Area – just 32 miles (52 km) from the Salt Lake International Airport. Our slopeside location allows guests to ski right to the lifts.
"The location directly on the slope across from the Collins and Wildcat lifts is perfect. You can ski directly down to the lifts from the ski locker room in the basement, making this a true ski out location. This is a skier's lodge, focused on providing what you need to go ski." Mike
Alta's average winter temperature is 20 to 25 degrees F (-6 to -3 C), and with humidity at less than 10%, the snow is light and dry. The average annual snowfall of 547 inches (13.9 meters) offers a haven for powderhounds in pursuit of Alta's renowned "steep and deep"powder and off-trail skiing. But Alta is also a fantastic destination for all types of skiers and families, offering beautifully groomed slopes and several lifts devoted to beginner and intermediate skiing.
