Deer Valley Departure

*Operational Status*
The operational status of your tour cannot be confirmed until 4:00–6:00 PM the day prior to your reservation.

A typical Deer Valley departure begins at 8:15 AM inside The Residences at The Chateaux, located in Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Village (Upper Deer Valley). Your guides will meet you downstairs in the Residences' Clubhouse room. During this meeting, you'll review the day’s plans, discussing weather, routes, avalanche conditions, and backcountry etiquette. Before heading out, you'll be outfitted with a Ski Utah Gold Pass and an avalanche transceiver, along with a brief overview of how to use the beacon. You’re welcome to store any gear—such as shoes or bags—in the Clubhouse lockers.

Enjoying some fresh turns

Your ski day will begin around 9:00 AM with a ride on the Sterling Express lift, followed by a few laps while your guides evaluate skill levels and you enjoy early morning conditions. Once warmed up, you'll head to the top of either the Empire Express or Lady Morgan chairs for your first rope drop. Before exiting the resort, guides will check in with Deer Valley Ski Patrol, and then it's off toward Park City Mountain.

Once at Park City Mountain, you'll make your way to the top of the Jupiter Chair, where the guides will check in with Park City Ski Patrol. Then, you'll ski off the backside of Park City into Big Cottonwood Canyon, where you’ll enjoy a few short backcountry descents and traverses before arriving at the base of Solitude Mountain Resort.

At Solitude, you'll take a quick bathroom and water break before deciding on the next objective. You may opt for several runs at Solitude before heading up the Summit chair, descending via the upper SolBright trail to Brighton Resort. Time at Brighton is often brief due to the day's extensive terrain, but from there, you’ll return to Solitude via lower SolBright for a well-earned lunch (included with your reservation).

Walking Out Catherines Pass

After lunch, you'll ascend Solitude’s Summit chair again, where guides will check in with Solitude Ski Patrol before taking you on a dramatic out-of-bounds traverse across the "Highway to Heaven" to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, also known as Twin Lakes Pass. A long backcountry descent will bring you to the upper base of Alta Ski Area. From there, you'll make your way to the top of the Sugarloaf chair, pass through the Mineral Basin gate, and arrive at Snowbird, the final resort of the day.

At Snowbird, you still have plenty of skiing left, with several options for 3,000-foot descents from the top of Hidden Peak after riding the Mineral Basin Express. After celebrating with a few high-fives, you can relax and unwind. Congratulations—you’ve completed the skiing portion of the Interconnect Tour!

At the Snowbird plaza, you’ll have time to use the restroom, grab a drink or snack from Snowbird’s General Grits store, and board the return transportation. The ride back to The Residences at The Chateaux typically takes 45–60 minutes, giving you time to share pictures, recount the day’s adventures, and rest your legs.
