Back after a Covid-related hiatus, the visually dramatic and exciting torchlight parade down Alta's quintessential High Boy (or High Rustler) ski run is finally back! Enjoy the sight of ski patrol and the Alf Engen Alta Ski School instructors whisk brilliant red flares down the steep slope in the dusky gloom. It's a sight! A firework show will accompany the action at this family-friendly event.
Skiers can get in on the action by riding the Wildcat Chairlift and participating in the public Torchlight Parade from the Collins Angle Station back down to the Wildcat Base Area. Dress incredibly warm for this special tradition! Afterward, there will be bonfires and fireworks from the Town of Alta and Alta Ski Area. Note that torchlight lift tickets will be limited to the first 500 skiers. Tickets are free for Alta season passholders or $10 for the general public. NO BEGINNER SKIERS WILL BE PERMITTED as skiing in low light conditions will be required. Please bring your own flashlight or headlamp.
