Good Boys and Girls of the Wasatch 2023 Calendar
Buy one for your mother, buy one for your brother, buy one for yourself. Perhaps the most feel-good product on our Holiday Gift Guide this year, this 2023 wall calendar features the hard-working pups of Wasatch Backcountry Search & Rescue at their workplaces in the mountains of Greater Salt Lake City. Proceeds from the calendar benefit Wasatch Backcountry Rescue and these good boys and girls. WBR’s primary purpose is rapid response for avalanche rescue, winter-related mountain rescue and medical evacuation incidents using trained professionals and search and rescue dogs. Check a gift (or two) off your list, support a local nonprofit and have these cute doggos on your wall all year long.
Kapowder Art
One of Ski Utah’s own, Lexi Dowdall is a lifelong Utahn, artist and skier. Flexing her creative muscles to create unique “Art for Mountain Folks & Skiers” like her resort watercolors or the quintessential vintage snowcats that sit at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Lexi’s Paint by Powder series highlights a classic image of a Utah resort, using snowmelt Lexi herself has collected from that same resort. Fun fact: you can buy Lexi’s watercolors to hang on your wall OR to drink from in special T.F. Brewing cans. Lexi’s commitment to giving back to our community here in Utah means that when you buy a piece of her art you’re not only getting a beautiful piece of unique Utah mountain culture, but you’re also helping support folks like Wasatch Adaptive Sports and Protect Our Winters. Shop her art here.
Snurfer
Imagine this: it’s Christmas morning and you’ve got a new snowboard or skis under the tree. Your parents attempted an awkward wrapping paper job and you feign surprise even though you’ve been asking for months and caught the UPS driving dropping off the box back in October. The excitement subsides as you realize you’re hours away from the mountain or even months away from that planned family ski vacation. Had your parents gotten you a Snurfer LLC on the other hand, you would be shredding in your backyard or even the city park immediately. The original snowboard sled without bindings, the Snurfer will have you surfing the mountains (or hills) in no time.
Deer Valley Signature Groceries
If you think it’s odd to see grocery items on a holiday gift guide, you’ve clearly never eaten at Deer Valley Resort. Must-haves from a ski day at Deer Valley like its world-famous turkey chili and carrot cake can be made at home (or sent around the country) with Deer Valley Signatures Stores mixes. Mixes and other Deer Valley Items can be purchased here.

The Ski Utah Yeti pass allows you to ski one day at each of the 15 resorts in Utah for less than $50 a day! This pass is also a great companion pass to the Ski Utah 4th, 5th and 6th Grade Passport. The Ski Utah Interconnect Tour
For the advanced and expert skiers in your life, give them the gift of exploration and discovery with The Ski Utah Interconnect Tour. This tour is a guided ski excursion connecting up to six resorts in one day while skiing, traversing and boot-packing across the Wasatch. Skiers will ride lifts and traverse between each resort, discovering that each mountain is placed much closer together than they thought! Give an individual or a couple a spot on an Open Tour or reserve a full Private Tour and get the ultimate guide to skiing between the resorts.
Anna Leigh Moore Art
There is something special about seeing an artist’s creative execution of your favorite peak. Anna Leigh Moore’s storefront is filled with Wasatch classics like Mount Superior, Jupiter Peak, Sundial Peak, and Mount Raymond. Cardiff Fork glows at sunrise and Timpanogos shines in a moon rise through her paintings. Her Etsy shop boasts prints starting at $17 up to $300 for original oil paintings.
Resort Gift Cards
Are you the procrastinating kind of gift giver? Fear not, you can always tap into gift cards at all your favorite resorts. Some of my favorites are Alta Ski Area, Sundance Mountain Resort, Brian Head Ski Resort.
Whether you’re a Utah local, looking to hang a favorite view, gift a mountain memory, or inspire your next ski trip, this gift guide is just the tip of the iceberg of the amazing makers and artists here in Utah. For more ideas look no further than Salt & Honey Market, Fisher Art Market, Wild Earth Market and the seemingly endless Utah artisans that can be found on Etsy.com.
