Rocking in the Ski World: Your Guide to Utah's Live Music Apres Ski Scene!

If you’re like me and you love the swishing sound of a big powder turn as much as an open A chord, you’re in luck. Here in Utah, we have a thriving scene of slopeside live music – from solo acts on sunny patios to big concert halls regularly bringing in amazing touring bands all ski season long. On any given day in the Beehive State, someone is plugging in their guitar and getting ready to make your day with some post-ski tunes. I’ve assembled a list of my favorites from north to south to get you rocking in the ski world!

Little Cottonwood Canyon:

Alta Peruvian Lodge: The “P-Dog”, as it's known locally, is near and dear to many, including yours truly – for its no-frills vibe that is emblematic of Alta – a place by skiers, for skiers. Catch live music at the Peruvian most Sundays throughout the winter featuring some unbelievable local acts, free popcorn, and cheap beer!

Slopeside Cafe: Home of the Alta Bomb and low-key spring apres tunes!

Snowbird Plazapalooza: There’s nothing quite like a sunny spring skiing afternoon on the deck jamming to live music at Snowbird. In recent years, the lineup has been loaded with local talent, and 2025 is no different!

Tram Club: A classic basement sports ski bar with a big stage to boot – no day at Snowbird is complete without a stop by the ‘Club for live tunes and comfort food.

Big Cottonwood Canyon:

Molly Green’s: Everything you want in a ski bar – rustic A-frame feel, friendly Brighton folks, and a live music schedule. Beware – a stop in Molly’s while the band is playing might shut down your skiing in favor of libations and musical vibrations for the rest of the day. Good thing the lifts spin till 9PM at Brighton into the spring!

The Thirsty Squirrel Hidden away in the Solitude Village, this classic mountain pub hosts live music most Fridays and Saturdays. Play pool, shuffleboard and dance in your ski boots, all under one roof!

Solitude’s Last Chance Beach Bash Series: Just a ton of fun in the sun on Saturdays in the Spring at Solitude on the snow outside of the Last Chance Lodge. Always featuring a lively lineup of high-energy local talent. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Salt Lake Valley:

The Hog Wallow (Cottonwood Heights): A personal favorite, the Hog hosts live music nearly every night of the year. A hot spot for local talent – from SLC’s thriving bluegrass scene to rock, jam, reggae, funk, and more, the Hog is always a good time and often inspires a late night of grooving after a long day of skiing in the Cottonwoods. Early ski mornings after a night at this spot are not for the faint of heart!

The State Room (Salt Lake City): The State Room and its larger counterpart, the Commonwealth Room (in South Salt Lake), regularly bring in awesome acts, both touring and local, throughout the week. Stop by either after a big day out on the slopes to catch your favorite band, and you won’t be disappointed by the quality of either establishment.

Garage on Beck: A bit off the beaten path and posing as a biker bar amidst the refineries north of downtown Salt Lake, this auto repair shop turned bar and restaurant is a great stop for down-to-earth vibes and great comfort food – a hearty way to compliment a hearty day of skiing.

Park City Mountain, On-Mountain:

Canyons Village: featuring a legit stage and sound system, catch live apres music every Saturday in the heart of the Village, March through closing day.

Miner’s Camp: At the base of Silverlode Lift and Quicksilver Gondola, stop by for seasonal live music at the PickAxe Pub, located in Miner’s Camp!

Deer Valley, On-Mountain:

Snow Park Lodge: Deer Valley’s main base area, stop by for seasonal music and world-famous Deer Valley Turkey Chili, sure to warm you up with the DV difference!

Park City, On Main Street:

The Egyptian Theatre: A nearly 100-year-old theatre on Main Street, the Egyptian is a thriving nonprofit offering an amazing lineup of diverse music all winter long. Self described as friendly, socially-welcoming, and slightly irreverent – and providing a seated show (a relief for tired ski legs) with the option to dance in the aisles!

The Marquis: A 1,200-person capacity room, the Marquis is a proper music hall on Main Street Park City, and the only one of its size that you could nearly ski to that I know of in Utah! I’m still riding the high of a recent Leftover Salmon show – the acoustics here are fantastic, and the venue is all-in on reviving Park City’s music legacy by bringing big-name acts to Main Street.

The Spur: Open seven days a week with live music every night – often with multiple options, it’s no wonder why the Spur has become a favorite to visitors and locals alike. Check out this packed music schedule and stop by on your next visit to PC!

Snowbasin Resort:

Cinnabar: A lounge with an elevated gastro-pub menu, signature drinks, and live music. Classy environs to match some of the classiest restrooms anywhere at Snowbasin Resort – and classy live music is the cherry on top. Don’t skip out on a visit to Cinnabar on your next visit north of Salt Lake City. This is a popular establishment – reservations are encouraged!

Snowbasin's Closing Day Bash: This 80s-themed affair will include live music, wicked costumes, and Snowbasin’s rad food & beverage scene. The event will take over Earl’s patio, so grab your throwback gear and come celebrate another incredible season at Snowbasin!

Powder Mountain:

The Powder Keg: Fond memories of seeing Utah’s very own Grateful Dead cover band, the Pranksters, after a full-on powder day cloud my judgment, but this quaint ski bar has a special place in my heart. At the top of the upside-down resort PowMow, where the music is loud, the wings are great, and the ski boot toes are tapping.

Sundance Mountain Resort:

Bluebird Cafe Concert Series: featuring Nashville’s finest singer-songwriters and musicians, brought to Sundance in partnership with the renowned Bluebird Cafe. Each show features three artists, who sing and tell the stories behind their songs.

Brian Head Resort:

Last Chair Grill & Brews: Head south for the incredible sights and slopes of Brian Head Resort, and don’t miss the music on Friday and Saturday afternoons at the Last Chair in the Giant Steps Lodge!

Eagle Point

Canyonside Bar & Grill and Eagle Point Canyonside Lodge: Stop by canyonside throughout the season for Saturday night live music!
